Langar Khana Hazrat Masih e Maud
(On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah)

Ziafat is one of the most prestigious department of Malis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, having its routes going back to the Langar Khana of Hazrat Masih e Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah).

In 1903 Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmed (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah) wrote a book “The Narrative of Two Martyrdoms”. In this book Hazrat Masih e Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah) wrote about the importance of the Langar and stated

“I see that the contributions made by them to maintain the Langar Khana (the Free Kitchen) are very commendable. Members of the Punjab make noteworthy contributions for this purpose. The reason for this is that those who live in the Punjab come to visit me often”

The Narrative of Two Martyrdoms, Chapter – An important Matter

In the beginging, the Langar Khana was based in the kitchen of Hazarat Amma Jaan (May Allah be please with her). She used to cook food for the guests who regularly visits Hazrat Masih e Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah) in Qadiyan.

It was a practice of Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah) that he used to eat with his guests in order to ensure that appropriate arrangements and facilities are being provided to his guests. However, when his health deteriorated and guests influx increased many fold he was not able to involve himself in the similar fashion and few adjustments were made accordingly.

However, Hazrat Masih e Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah) were always mindful of his guests who travelled vast distances to see him, enduring treacherous journeys. As such, on one occasion Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah) ) stated

“I am always mindful that no guest should be inconvenienced and this is why I always give instructions that as much as it is possible, guests should be afforded comfort. The heart of a guest is fragile like glass and is broken by the slightest of knocks. Previously, the arrangements were such, that i used to eat with guests but since my health has deteriorated and that now i have special dietary requirements, previous arrangements could not continue, as well as, guest numbers have also increased many folds so there was not enough space, perforce, the current arrangements. Despite, I  have openly allowed everyone to freely state their needs, as some have special requirements due to their ill health, which can be fulfilled

Furthermore, necessity to create a separate facilities was becoming apparent as guests were coming in great numbers to see Hazrat Masih-e-Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah). To accommodate the needs of the guests arrangements were made to create Langar Khana but being mindful of the guest needs and to enlighten his followers of the importance of the hospitality Hazarat Massih-e-Maud (On Him are the blessings and the peace of Allah) stated on one occasion that

The administrator of Langar Khana shoud be enjoined, that he should take care of every guests necessity
